The Bar is a tidal sand tombolo across the the tiny island of Gugh. It is an amazing location, that feels more like a tropical beach. South of The Bar, the spectacular location offers very sheltered swimming and snorkelling in crystal-clear waters. Snorkelling equipment, along with stand up paddle boards and kayaks can be hired on the island. The island’s cafés and the welcome of The Turk’s Head are great places to warm up afterwards.
NOTE: It is generally safe to swim from the sandbar at low tide, but not when the Bar is covered at higher tides as strong currents rip between Gugh and St. Agnes
