Taking just 2 minutes or so (depending on the wind speed) this is the world’s shortest scheduled flight and makes an exhilarating way of getting to Papa Westray – and you get a certificate if you ask.
There are at least two Loganair Islander flights every weekday and one flight on Sunday from Kirkwall, the largest town on mainland Orkney. The flight will touch down on Westray first, then head across to Papa Westray. Get the reduced fare if you stay overnight on Papa Westray. The Islander has 10 seats, so make sure you book in advance in the summer.
